About the game
Police Stories: The Academy is a free version of Police Stories with a new story, missions, and locations. Rick and John are two rookie cops who are just starting out in the police academy. However, their day takes a turn for the worse when unrest breaks out in the city and a "rat" from the mafia appears at the station. It's up to these two student cops to take on the challenge!
The Academy is based on SWAT 4 and cop TV shows, and is a unique take on top-down shooters. Players must make quick decisions in order to rescue hostages, neutralize criminals, and defuse bombs in either single-player or co-op mode. The Surrender System allows you to apprehend suspects without resorting to violence, and you can also issue commands to your fellow cop Rick Jones.
The game features 3 new missions and locations, plus the police academy training ground. Randomly placed criminals, hostages, and evidence make every level different, and you will have access to police equipment such as under-the-door cameras and door blast charges. You will also face various types of lawbreakers, from small-time criminals to gangs and terrorists.
Complex Tactical Gameplay is key to success in The Academy. You must be careful not to get spotted, use your bullets wisely, and take criminals down quietly. Your actions are scored in real time, so playing aggressively won't get you a high enough result to start the next mission. You can also complete missions in co-op mode for better scores and more fun!
