About the game
My Work Is Not Yet Done is a narrative-driven horror game that combines elements of the survival and simulation genres with a complex, nonlinear plot that examines the intertwining and disintegration of human identities and meanings in a mysterious wilderness. Players take on the role of Avery, the last remaining member of a doomed scientific mission to a remote and unknown area. Avery's mission is to locate the source of a strange transmission that is believed to have come from the region. To succeed, she must explore, survey and survive a strange, ever-changing landscape that has been reclaimed by nature - and perhaps something else.
The game focuses on a combination of open-ended investigation and analysis, as well as a detailed simulation-lite approach to representing the character's physical experience in the moment. It also deals with haunted radio signals, catastrophic signal failures, the encroaching emptiness of the wilderness, and the paradox of an empty tomb. Ultimately, it is about unfinished and unfinishable work.
