About the game
Zortch Maxinum is a professional slacker who finds herself in a precarious situation after falling for an alien's fake holiday scheme - now she must escape their planet or become a light snack. Fortunately, she has a mysterious voice helping her along the way. Zortch is a single player FPS game with a sci-fi setting, horror and comedy elements, and features a custom engine that runs well on low-spec machines. Players can choose from 6 difficulty modes, ranging from very easy to extreme, and arm themselves with 9 guns, including a grenade launcher, TNT, tripmine, plasma pistol, a double barreled shotgun, and a bizarre living lightning gun. The game consists of 15 levels, 5 boss levels, and over 30 enemy types, such as giant green brainsucking aliens and their inventions and cronies, spider mines, lizards with rocket launchers, raptors, pudding-like amoeboid pretending to be humanoid guards, and a giant 20 feet tall flatworm cyborg bounty hunter. Powerups include a portable medkit and invisibility, and players can also adjust the FOV slider and Letterbox mode, as well as customize the violence mode to change blood to be confetti or ketchup. Zortch also includes feeble attempts at humor.
