About the game
A new variant of the virus has spread, and all residence of the New American Republic are required to self report to designated quarantine camps. In non contained areas, all lifeforms are considered infected and hostile, and the NAR is using airborne chemical agents and ground patrols to suppress them.
In order to survive, players must loot, shoot, extract, base build, craft, and upgrade. To do this, they must enter a contaminated zone using the Eastern Railway, search the area for useful gear and resources, and find the exit ramp to return to the safe zone.
Safe zones are free of airborne chemical agents and provide an area for base building. Here, players can craft weapons and upgrade their gun performance attributes, interchangeable attachments, and detailed ammunition types.
Each procedural generated run has its own level of contamination and a differing level of patrol presence. Gas masks and blocker pills help extend exposure, while armed patrol agents are equipped with varying levels of gear and have orders to shoot on sight. Special points of interest are scattered around the map providing working crafting stations for different kinds of upgrades.
Players must also manage their food and drink, health, contamination exposure, and temperature in order to survive. Finally, they must gear up for a final push westward out of NAR reach towards freedom.
