A cargo airplane has crashed in the vast Amita mountain range, carrying a shipment of beagles destined for the CutLab animal testing facility. The lab is now in a frenzy, determined to reclaim its "property" with the help of a biohazard division. Their orders are clear: seize usable specimens and dispose of the rest.
But we won't let that happen. Our elite animal rescue squad is on a mission to save as many dogs as possible before they are confined to a life of misery. Join us in this challenging platformer/runner game, where you can play as Nicole or Edwin and rescue adorable beagles.
Gameplay
Rescue: The Beagles offers a unique parallax-based gameplay experience, paying homage to classic 8-bit era arcades. Navigate through treacherous mountain terrain by parkouring, roping, and parachuting in a fast-paced chase through colorful procedurally generated levels.
But it won't be easy. You'll have to face a horde of biohazard dudes, vivisectors, and lab executives. But don't worry, you'll have some help. Command owls and use them as weapons against your enemies. And don't forget to upgrade your skills and consume wild goji berries to gain superpowers!
Just be careful not to fall from great heights, as it could lead to your demise. But with determination and skill, you can prevail.

The initial Rescue: The Beagles prototype was created in 2008 for a prominent game jam. It was built from scratch in just two weeks and won the jam, beating out hundreds of other entries.
The game's story was inspired by a real-life incident of beagle abuse at a veterinary institute in the developer's hometown. The news of this incident caused public outrage and sparked a heated discussion about beagles during one of the developer's hikes in the Alps. This unlikely fusion of beagles and mountain peaks led to the creation of the game idea.
