About the game
J and the Sewer World: A Retro-Inspired Platforming Adventure
J and the Sewer World is a 2D platforming game that pays homage to classic video games from the 80's and 90's. With its pixel art style and nostalgic elements, it is sure to bring back fond memories for players of all ages.
Developed in Game Maker Studio 2, this game follows the story of J, a young boy who accidentally kicks his soccer ball into a sewer manhole while playing with his friends. When his friends push him to retrieve the ball, J embarks on a journey through the sewer to find it.
As he navigates through the sewer, J encounters various creatures such as Slimes, Flies, Toe-Biters, and Catfishes. These enemies pose a challenge as he makes his way through 4 distinct stages filled with obstacles and bosses.
The Quest for the Soccer Ball
Along the way, J meets several NPCs who call the sewer their home. These characters offer valuable tips and advice to help J overcome the challenges he faces. With their help, J must use his slingshot, which fires rocks, to fight off enemies and bosses and continue his quest for the precious soccer ball.
Simple Controls, Challenging Gameplay
In J and the Sewer World, players take on the role of J and control his movements using simple commands such as moving right and left, jumping, and attacking with the slingshot. However, the real challenge lies in exploring the sewer, battling enemies, and interacting with the residents to progress in the game.
