About the game
Inner Ashes is an immersive first-person narrative adventure that allows players to explore the effects of Alzheimer's on people and their memories. Through an emotive story of a father and daughter, Henry and Enid, set in dreamlike sequences, players must go on an introspective journey through two different realities to uncover the truth behind their estrangement.
Players will explore Henry's mind, manifested as several dreamlike islands that represent different symptoms of Alzheimer’s, and unlock his memories by solving puzzles. Through the game's mechanics, based on techniques used to help Alzheimer’s patients, players will be able to experience the daily life of an Alzheimer's patient and confront their day-to-day struggles. Post-it notes help Henry to recognize items and remember how to use them, while tangram puzzles stimulate Henry's memory and unlock important recollections of his life with Enid.
