About the game

Welcome to a World of Discovery and Revelation

Curiosity and exploration are the keys to unlocking the mind. Whether you stumbled upon this experience by chance or sought it out intentionally, you are invited to stay and embark on a journey of self-discovery.

By finding this, you have chosen to participate in a unique program designed to test your limits. Throughout this examination, you will encounter thought-provoking questions and scenarios that will challenge your perspectives and open your mind to new possibilities.

Will you answer the call and embrace the unknown? Will you dare to explore the depths of your potential?

A Love Letter to Flash Horror

Greetings, and welcome to my first ever game. This experience is a tribute to the era of Flash horror, a genre that I once indulged in heavily. However, this is not your typical horror game. Instead, it is what I like to call "Bizarre" - drawing inspiration from other mediums, a "Bizarre" work delves into a world of magic and ritual. It is often presented in a dark and atmospheric manner, with a strong focus on narrative and mystery. I must emphasize, this is not a conventional horror experience. There are no jumpscares, no creatures, no survival or opposition. You are free - and encouraged - to explore at your own pace.

What to Expect

This experience is primarily text-based, but it incorporates graphics throughout. Animated backgrounds and hand-drawn art play a central role in the overall atmosphere. The art style features muted tones, typically grayscale, with a sketchy or blotty appearance.

Gameplay mainly consists of point-and-click mechanics, with some typing sections. I created this using Ren.py, a visual novel engine, and added more interactive elements. At certain points, you will be prompted to critically analyze what is presented to you. Your success or failure in doing so, as well as the answers you provide, will determine one of approximately 60 possible endings. While the majority of the gameplay remains the same, it may occasionally react to your choices.

Skipping through dialogue may shorten the game's duration, but I do not recommend it. The replay value lies in achieving different endings, including the "ideal" one, and exploring different choices and their consequences. If this is not your preferred type of game, I encourage you to give it a try, but do not expect a drastically different experience.

System Requirements

This game was developed using Ren.py 7.4.11.2266 and should be compatible with most modern operating systems. As it primarily uses point-and-click mechanics and pre-made art, it does not require high-performance computers to run smoothly. According to Renpy's release for version 7.4, programs may require OpenGL 2, DirectX 9, OpenGL ES 2, or WebGL to run. If you need further clarification, please refer to your system's specifications.

Accessibility

The graphics in this game are predominantly grayscale, with white text on dark black and gray backgrounds. At times, purple text may be used, and other times, muted red and black on a gray background. As long as you can distinguish some color from no color at all, the game should be functional for you. While recent Renpy builds have a self-voicing feature, the visual component of this experience is crucial, and having eyesight is necessary to progress through certain sections.
