About the game
Amelia Morrison couldn't handle the aftermath of the events that took place in her hometown of Rzekiva. In an attempt to move on, she leaves for the city, hoping to piece together what's left of her life. The mundane routine of city life provides a numbing comfort, but no matter how hard she tries to push them away, memories of Rzekiva always resurface. These persistent memories hint that there may be more to the events in Rzekiva than meets the eye.
As Amelia delves deeper, the world around her begins to unravel and she finds herself at the center of it all. Trust and truth are scarce commodities in the New European Federated Economic Territory (NEFET), particularly in the grey city of Centropol where surveillance, resource extraction, and body policing are the norm. But Amelia has bigger concerns as she uncovers networks of conspiracy, hidden passages, and lost technoccultures within the fabric of Centropol.
Amidst new and familiar faces, Amelia must carefully choose who to trust and who to keep at a distance. Developed by WireWARE with guidance from the MVU, Butterfly//Circuit is a cybergothic kinetic visual novel that weaves a twisted drama with elements of psychological horror, drawing inspiration from works such as Serial Experiments Lain, Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni, and the works of David Lynch.
Butterfly//Circuit offers a dark and tense reading experience, enhanced by original artwork and an originally composed soundtrack featuring a diverse range of music, from pulsing techno and chill trip-hop to moody post-rock and atmospheric drones.
