About the game
Upwards Adventure: The Mysterious Mortem Post
Located on the outskirts of a small village stands a massive tree, its canopy disappearing far above the clouds. While grandiose on the outside, its interior houses the humble Mortem Post. This post office receives and delivers letters from those who have passed on.
Breaking protocol, Rain, a flighty little courier, decides to lend a helping wing and takes a skittish girl named Mila on an adventure through the inner workings of the post office. Together, they search for a letter containing the last words of someone who seemingly never existed.
Join Rain and Mila on their journey through the mysterious Mortem Post, where they will meet various couriers working throughout the tree. With Rain's trusty stamp collection, they will overcome a myriad of obstacles that stand in their way. From choose-your-own-adventure style outcomes to stealth missions, no two puzzles are exactly the same.
Meet the Couriers of Mortem Post
Beth Pierce
Beth is a rookie courier at Mortem Post and the granddaughter of the postmaster. As a no-stamp rank, she is still learning the basics, such as handling front desk duties and sorting ground-level mail. Despite her love for her job, she often bends the rules, causing trouble for herself when her mentor inevitably finds out.
Mel Valentine
Mel is a young seaborn girl from the village of Vitae. She has been a regular at Mortem Post, coming in every day for the past three weeks, asking for a letter from her dearest friend who has recently passed on. She is a bit of a crybaby, and her tears upon hearing that her letter has yet to arrive are what move Rain to take her on an adventure through the back of the post office.
William Maloy
William, also known as Mizore, is a courier by name, but their duties mostly involve the upkeep of the tree's exterior. They trim branches and ensure the tree's continued health. While the tree stretches upwards forever, they never stray higher than the clouds, as it would become impossible to complete their tasks. They have a friendly, laid-back demeanor and often find amusement in Rain's day-to-day ordeals.
Elissa Park
Elissa, also known as Neve, is a Three-Stamp ranked courier and Rain's Big Sis (no relation). Unlike her fellow galekind, she is firmly planted to the ground due to her missing wing. She has found a comfortable position in the post office that takes advantage of this. By staying on the ground, she is able to get to know the other villagers in a way that those who stay airborne do not. As a result, she is able to deliver letters with vague recipients, such as "the kind regular who always visited my shop" or "the woman who delivered flowers on my birthday."
Vyn Vox
Vyn is a Five-Stamp ranked courier and has achieved a prestigious position at Mortem Post. With her rank comes additional responsibilities, including training new staff. Her newest trainee, Rain, has caused her endless grief. Rain's reckless disregard for the rules constantly clashes with Vyn's pursuit of perfection. Despite this, Vyn remains dedicated to her duties and can often be found hovering around Rain throughout the day.
