This story takes place ten years after the previous installment and follows a youth from Tangxia Village, providing a perspective rooted in indigenous culture to depict the hidden feudalistic darkness and customs within Chinese villages. The theme of "family" is emphasized, and the humorous and comedic elements from the previous work are preserved, ensuring an engaging and poignant story.

Story

Tangxia Village, a secluded small mountain village, is known for its picturesque scenery and perpetual summer-like atmosphere. However, beneath its beauty lies a village rife with feudalistic customs that contradict its idyllic surroundings. Human trafficking, gender bias, and archaic rituals such as ghost marriage still persist, remnants of the old society's customs.

The protagonist of the story is Ma Xiaodong, the son of the local landlords in Tangxia Village. He lives with his father, Ma Qingchen, his two sisters, Ma Minyi and Ma Wenhui, and his childhood friend, Zhu Qianyin. Despite the seemingly peaceful surface, tensions arise between personal growth and traditional beliefs. As changes in thoughts and contradictions with traditional values become apparent, long-hidden family secrets gradually surface. Faced with impending darkness, the choices between change and tradition, how will the young boys and girls respond? Will their destiny begin to shift towards new horizons? All will be revealed in this summer.
