Spires of Morosith is not your average tower defense game. With a mix of real-time strategy elements, players have the ability to control the shape of the battlefield and the path of their enemies. This adds a new level of depth to the classic tower defense genre.

Invading Grainwraiths: The Ultimate Threat

The Grainwraiths are a formidable enemy, tearing through the peaceful land of Arborglen with their destructive power. Their main goal is to destroy the Spires, which create a protective barrier known as the Gossamer. They will stop at nothing until all of Arborglen is consumed by their wrath.

There are various types of Grainwraiths, ranging from small and numerous Scouts to rare and horrifying Abhorration. Each one poses a unique challenge for players to overcome.

• Enemies may spawn as a special type, such as the Mammoths who draw towers' attention away from smaller Grainwraiths.
• The Trojan, upon death, creates a small Tear which spawns even more enemies.

The boss wave encounters will test players' strategies and take advantage of any defensive weaknesses.

Summoned Defenses: Your Only Hope

Players have access to an arsenal of 5 towers, each with a unique function for defeating the invading Grainwraiths. These towers can be upgraded along one or two paths, adding additional effects such as burning, vulnerability, or reduced movement speed.

Summoning towers also influences the route the Grainwraiths will take to reach the Spires, giving players more control over the battlefield.

Support Structures: Building for Success

In addition to towers, players can also construct support buildings to improve resource generation and harvesting rates. While these buildings do not deal damage to the Grainwraiths, they are just as important in protecting Arborglen and its Spires.

Buildings also have a larger footprint (2x2) compared to towers (1x1) and can influence the Grainwraiths' routes.

Spires of Morosith and Obelisks: The Key to Victory

The Spires of Morosith are the key to keeping the Grainwraiths at bay. However, they have been disabled and now the Grainwraiths are determined to destroy them. Protecting the Spires should be the top priority, as any damage to them can have significant consequences.

To reactivate the Spires, players must collect Grainwraith Cores from Obelisks scattered throughout the map. Defeating the Grainwraiths within the Obelisk's area will yield a Core.

Gatherers Simon and Allen: Your Resource Collectors

Players can command Gatherers to collect resources from the map. However, resources are removed from the map once collected, creating more space for towers but also potentially opening new routes for the Grainwraiths to access the Spires.

Gatherers may also discover Ancient Knowledge in the forests of Arborglen, unlocking new towers and buildings for players to use.

Explore the Three Regions of Arborglen

Arborglen is divided into three regions, each presenting unique challenges for players to overcome. The dense forests, floating islands, and deadroot areas all require different defensive strategies to protect the Spires.

Be cautious when building near wildlife, as they may try to protect their territory and hinder your defenses.

Additional Features for Clarity and Challenge

When faced with a challenging puzzle, players can reflect on the outcomes to overcome obstacles in their way. Spires of Morosith offers a few features to help players gain clarity and overcome challenges:

• Each successful wave generates a report, detailing the number of Cores collected and any Spire damage taken.
• Hovering over the Wood Bank and Wave displays will show the resources generated per minute and the wave difficulty stats.
• While paused, players can access construct blueprints to temporarily update the Grainwraith path, making it easier to plan intricate maze designs.
• For those feeling prepared, there is an Endless Mode where players can see how long their defenses can withstand a relentless Grainwraith spawn.
