Love, Elections, and Chocolate is a captivating romantic visual novel developed by the renowned Japanese game studio, Sprite. Upon its release in Japan, it received numerous accolades for its stunning artwork, enchanting music, and well-developed characters.
Story
The story follows the lives of two longtime friends, Oojima Yuuki and Sumiyoshi Chisato, who attend the prestigious Takafuji Academy. The academy boasts a massive student body of over 5,000 students. Yuuki and Chisato are both members of the Culinary Research Club, which may sound impressive, but in reality, it's just an excuse for them to indulge in junk food with their friends. However, as the Student Council presidential election approaches, the CRC becomes the target of a prominent candidate, Shinonome Satsuki.
With their club at risk of being disbanded, Yuuki and Chisato must join the election and do whatever it takes to prevent Satsuki from winning.
Characters
- Oojima Yuuki: President of the Culinary Research Club and childhood friend of Chisato. She is intelligent and athletic, but also has a strong and overbearing personality. She has publicly declared Yuuki as her property and is notorious for her hatred of chocolate.
- Sumiyoshi Chisato: A hard-working optimist who attends Takafuji through the Financial Aid program while taking care of her two younger brothers. Her infectious smile brightens up the room.
- Shinonome Satsuki: The newest member of the Culinary Research Club. She is quiet and aloof, often keeping to herself. Her catchphrase is "Meh."
- Kiba Mifuyu: A delicate girl who was held back a year due to illness. She has a unique sense of humor and always wants the best for her best friend, Chisato.
- Shinonome Isara: The head treasurer and favored candidate to win the upcoming election. She is not only beautiful, but also has a sharp analytical mind and a sweet tooth.
- Shinonome Michiru: The former president of the Culinary Research Club and a brilliant inventor of quirky gadgets. She has a weakness for Yuuki's signature roll cake.
- Shinonome Iori: The vice president of the Culinary Research Club and comes from a family that owns a major snack food company. He may seem polite and docile, but he has mastered the art of innuendo.
- Shinonome Ai: Bratty and shallow, but don't dare call her a "monkey." Her family runs a fishmonger's shop and she is rarely seen without her childhood friend, Satsuki.
- Shinonome Mifuyu: The advisor to the Culinary Research Club and the older sister of Satsuki. She has a tendency to get drunk and cause trouble.
