DATE A LIVE is a beloved light novel series published by Fujimi Fantasia Bunko. It has also been adapted into a popular TV anime series of the same name, with the fifth installment, DATE A LIVE V, airing in April 2024. This captivating story, written by Koushi Tachibana and illustrated by Tsunako, has captured the hearts of fans worldwide, selling over six million copies!
The Story
The tale of DATE A LIVE takes place thirty years after Earth has been plagued by spacequakes, caused by the appearance of mysterious beings known as Spirits. One day, a regular student named Shido Itsuka meets a disillusioned Spirit who has lost faith in humanity. Shido's sister, Kotori, reveals to him that he possesses a unique ability to seal a Spirit's powers. However, the method is quite unexpected - he must date the Spirit and make her fall in love with him!
Determined to protect the world and save the Spirits, Shido faces each challenge with sincerity. In the latest installment, a new Spirit named Natsumi becomes the target of Deus Ex Machina Industry. Shido must defend her and ultimately seal her powers. He also faces the consequences of Origami's transformation and inversion, but with the help of his friends, he is able to reshape the world and seal Origami as well.
Though there may still be enemies lurking, Shido and his friends are able to enjoy the peace they have fought for. However, after a seemingly ordinary evening with his friends, Shido has a strange dream and wakes up to find a mysterious container under his pillow. As he tries to figure out its purpose, a mysterious voice calls out to him from the shadows.
