About the game
Warning: Play the Demo First!
Despite its appearance, CrossOver is a fast-paced and challenging action game. We highly recommend trying the demo before diving into the full game.
It's the late hours of the night and you're in your 80's themed bedroom. As you sit at your "G64" computer, strange energy fills the air causing the screen to flicker. Ignoring the odd occurrence, you begin to create a character sheet for your tabletop roleplaying games. But before you can finish, dark portals suddenly appear on your desk and little pixel creatures start crossing over into our world!
Defend your character as you journey through the stages of each campaign book. Whether it's all in your head or not, you must use your skills to survive.
A Unique Gameplay Experience
CrossOver combines elements from various genres such as Match 3, Tower Defense, Action, Strategy, RPG, and Puzzle to create a one-of-a-kind challenge. With over 100 levels set in both fantasy and sci-fi worlds, extra game modes, and asymmetrical co-op (one player controls the dice while the other handles attacks), CrossOver is... well, let's just say it's a bit strange. But don't worry, there's a demo available for you to try before committing to the full game.
A Deep and Engaging Challenge
Each campaign includes:
- Shops to purchase armor and items
- RPG progression (earn XP, level up, increase stats)
- Dozens of spells and weapons to discover
- Mercenaries for hire
- Random encounters with choices similar to Fighting Fantasy books
- Persistent gems to unlock new classes and races (15 of each per game setting) or trade in for extra gold
With both fantasy and sci-fi game modules available, there is a wealth of content to explore. Each module includes 7 campaign books with multiple stages, as well as local co-op and online lobby co-op options. Plus, there are procedurally generated endless modes for solo play and online co-op, as well as dice defense game modes for each module.
Unlockable Content and Casual Play
As you progress through the game, you can unlock an art gallery and a hidden mini-game. And if you find the game's pace too overwhelming, you can adjust the difficulty setting. This will reduce the damage dealt by enemies, allowing for a more relaxed gameplay experience. You can toggle this setting on or off at any time during solo or local co-op campaigns, making CrossOver accessible and enjoyable for all types of players. But let's be real, it's still a weird game.
