About the game
Hello everyone! We are a small indie team of three from China who have a passion for bugs. However, as digital nomads, we are unable to keep real insects for a long time. That's why we have transformed our screens into virtual terrariums! This is how Bugtoria was created - a cozy idle game where you can raise, breed, and collect bugs without any limitations in real life.
Bugtoria is a unique idle game that features not just one, but over 300 bug species that have been lovingly crafted based on their real-life counterparts. From bioluminescent wonders to adorable little critters, each insect has been given an artistic makeover while still maintaining their real-world charm. The game also introduces a special breeding and mating system where you can place two bugs in a breeding box and patiently wait for new and sometimes rare species to emerge.
With a deep respect for nature, we have included some endangered and even extinct insects in the game and have created encyclopedia entries for each species. Our hope is that players will develop an appreciation for these tiny lives through our game.
To provide a cozy, comfortable, and personalized environment for your bugs to live in, we have created a highly customizable DIY landscaping system. With over 20 terrarium types, 70 water and soil options, 300 landscaping items, and 700 evolving states that unlock through idle gameplay, the possibilities for creating unique terrarium landscapes are endless.
The terrarium also features 5 time periods and 4 weather conditions, from dawn to night and from sunny days to drizzles and misty weather. Your terrarium will be full of vitality and constantly changing. Additional features include a desktop wallpaper mode and a pomodoro timer. We also have some fun little functions and easter eggs in store for the perfect companions, whether you're working or taking a break.
Bring a piece of nature to your desktop and watch as foxtails grow lush, moss covers stones, and cute bugs chirp soothingly. We hope that Bugtopia can provide a moment of relaxation in your busy days and allow you to enjoy some peaceful and beautiful moments.
