In 1924, Arnold Schönberg's groundbreaking mono-opera "Erwartung" premiered, using expressive tonal language to tell the story of a woman's anxiety as she stumbles upon a corpse in the woods at night while searching for her lover. Now, director André Bücker has brought this emotional psychogram to life in a whole new way with a 360° virtual reality production.
Through the use of a VR headset and controllers, audiences are transported into a dark and eerie forest, fully immersed in the woman's search for her lover. As the player takes on the role of the woman, they drive the plot forward through their own interactions.
