About the game
Aladdin of the Forsaken Lands is a retro RPG that offers a unique twist on the classic Arabian Nights tale. Six unlikely allies will join forces to uncover an ancient artifact and protect their kingdom from falling into the wrong hands. Aladdin, a thief and adventurer found near the border of the Forsaken Lands, is joined by Inaya, a mysterious cloaked woman with a hidden past, and Altair, a guardsman who watches over the prisoners in his care. When the group discovers a strange woman named Sena, Aladdin's goal of escaping servitude transforms into something much greater.
Players can converse with the various party members while resting, fostering relationships that may develop into either romances or partnerships. Depending on the romantic interest or chosen partner, different endings can be experienced. The ATB (Active Time Battle) system, popularized in various retro RPGs, also makes a return. Characters' turns arrive as time passes, with aggressive enemies that will attack even as a move is being selected. Players can toggle the "Wait ON" option to prevent the enemy from attacking while a move is being selected, allowing them to decide how frantic they'd like their combat encounters to be.
